As an honest scrap metals recyclers, if he is convicted I hope they punish him to the fullest extent of the law. Guys like him give the honest guys a black eye. I do a service by helping folks get top dollar for their scrap and appreciate getting halves or a third just so we can have some work so we can feed our famiies, in these hard times just getting some work is a blessing. Guys so jacked he's peeping in his mug shot.

He's a victim of society and the system. It's not his fault that he turned out the way he did. If he too could get financial assistance, a roof over his head and an educational advantage , then he wouldn't need to steal. If only white people had an awesome advocate of equality like Rev. Barber things like this would never happen. But that is just a dream.

Thank God he was only drunk and a thief. Think of the carnage if he had been talking on a cellphone!

cut off a hand then he's disabled. put him in jail and it also cost taxpayers more. if he's drug addicted, rehabilitate him (stop his supply) and make him work with a chain on his leg to repay for all the damage he has done and problems he has caused.

Copper hits an all time high today. Look for more crack heads like this one to get busy. If he was needing the money to feed his kids that is one thing but I bet the only thing he is feeding is a drug habit. I have long said put drugs on every street corner and let folks have all they want for free. After a couple of weeks most would be dead from an overdose Then we the law abiding citizens would be better off. This guy stole a couple hundred dollars worth of copper but done thousands of dollars worth of damage. I agree with JD take off a hand and then see if he wants to go back and steal something else.

come on folks, he's only been charged with the crimes, can't we just wait to hear all the facts before we convict him?? and no I don't know this man but we all have the right to a trial before judgement, or didn't you guys learn the bill of rights in School?

I feel the same way. Lock 'em up and force them to do hard labor. Feed them crappy, low-budget TV, etc. Make them dread going back!

It is irritating that these idiots are doing thousands of dollars in damage to stuff to get $10 in copper.
