Deputies say the ring leader in a human trafficking organization in Eastern Carolina is under arrest.
Oscar Salinas-Rodriguez was arrested Friday after a search of what Pitt County deputies say was a brothel on Highway 264 East, near Pactolus.
During the search a woman from Western North Carolina was rescued. Deputies say she was promised a cleaning job, but when she arrived she was forced to engage in sex labor. She had been held at the brothel for about a week.
Salinas-Rodriguez is charged with sexual servitude, adult victim and is held under a $100,000 bond as well as an immigration detainer.
Also charged with solicit for prostitution are Kenia Valdez-Gomez of Brooklyn, New York and Jose Castro of Wilson. Both are jailed on $5,000 bonds.
