DEPUTIES: Chain Surgically Removed From Dog's Neck

Deputies say they found a dog with its skin grown over a chain around its neck. Now a man has been arrested.

Damien Williams of Trails End North was arrested on one count of felony cruelty to animals. He turned himself in at the magistrate's office on Friday.

Beaufort County deputies say the chain had to be surgically removed by a veterinarian. Deputies say Williams didn't own the animal, but it was in his care.

Bond for the 32-year-old Williams was set at $2,500 secured.

Wow, take a joke seriously why don't you. Don't let me dis your wanna be boyfriend. I was making the joke that the guy in the picture looked like a chubby Michael Vick. Geez, grow a sense of humor. Let me ask you, how much of that 100 mil did you get? Not a dime because he doesn't care how much defend him on these message boards. Yet you feel like defending him because he can play football a little bit, a real little bit. He's got better things to do with his time and 100 million dollars.

This report is so incredibly vague. So he didn't own the animal but it was in his care? Was he aware that the skin had grown over the collar? What kind of dog was it? Was it one of those violent dogs where you wouldn't dare get close to it if you could? Who found out that the skin had grown over the collar if this guy turned himself in after the fact was known? The reason I ask is because my neighbor owns rottweilers and I wouldn't get near them to find out if the skin grew over their collars - even if he put them in my care and all I had to do was put food over the fence for them.

He had just got the dog and the owner fed him before he left, Damien has a job so he went to work. When he got home he went to check and the dog was still there and he saw the chain and caled animal control. Still not understanding why he was arrested. I have called animal control and was told that it would be 2 weeks before they could come. So if someone has no car how are they suppose to get to the pound or somewhere? Just asking

Licking his lips like they all do... I do call the Sheriff or Police when I see animals tied up without shelter or water/food. It takes a sorry human to do that to an animal and yes Deer hunters I have put the man on You too and will continue to do so as long as people break the law. Put it in prison whats another 30 thousand per year.

Michael Vick complained about being knocked down a few times while he makes millions. He should still be in jail for what he did. just saying...

No he shouldn't. He paid for what he done. Would you want your wrong doings be held over your head forever?
