Deputies said a stabbing overnight on Wednesday ended with two people taken to the hospital, and one of them ended up in jail.
Deputies in Pitt County said they got a call Wednesday night about a stabbing in the county.
Investigators said 29-year-old Paula Watson of Washington and the victim in this case were both taken to the hospital where they were treated and released by early Thursday morning.
Deputies said there was a stabbing reported, but no official word on what lead to that incident.
Watson was booked in the Pitt County Detention Center at 9 p.m. Wednesday, according to jailers.
She is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Watson is being held without bond ahead of her first court appearance set for Thursday morning.
