DEPUTIES: Woman Accused Of Taking $30,000 From Church

A Beaufort County woman is accused of stealing some $30,000 from a church in Blount's Creek.

Shauna Moody is charged with two counts of identity theft and two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses after her arrest Friday. Warrants say the theft came from St. Anna Missionary Baptist Church.

Deputies say they began an investigation back in late February after the church reported someone had withdrawn money from the checking account without permission.

Moody was released on a $5,000 secured bond and deputies say additional charges against the 44-year-old woman are pending.

To all of Y'all going at each other: I think it's ridiculous to argue with someone you don't know, especially if the majority wouldn't say this stuff in a face to face dispute. If you have your opinion about something that's great, but that doesn't mean that someone else's opinion is wrong. Maybe one day some people will grow up. It's apparent that it's not today.. But possibly someday. And yes, this is my opinion, so if anyone agrees or disagrees, it doesn't make this statement right or wrong.

Christians crack me up. Only use the Ten Commandments when its convenient for them. When most the time they are ignored. Look at all the crime today and all the people doing wrong.

True Christian recognize that they too are sinners and do wrong. It looks like you are just looking for an opportunity to insult and stereotype us ....

I do not usually post to this site but I could not help but post something.... How do u steal from a church..... She is going to hell in a hand basket. She should have known better. Nothing is so bad that you have to steal from church, just go and ask for it.

A thief is a thief and she should be punished as such. I don't know about you folks that are preaching at everyone but I sure would not want a thief as a friend or a neighbor. Put this scum in jail and see if she learns a lesson. If punishments were tougher I think fewer people would break the law.
