About 100 people from all over the east met on the steps of the the Lenoir County courthouse Friday evening in Kinston to rally against the new federal healthcare system. The Defund Obamacare rally was organized by the Lenoir County Republican Party.
The rally included several speakers. Event organizer Michele Nix had a message for lawmakers who did not attend the event that was very similar to Clint Eastwood's speech at the Republican National Convention.
"What she did was basically pretend like they were there, pretend that everybody, all the representatives were there and those of us in the audience that know the views of those representatives were very well aware of each question she asked and how that particular lawmaker would have answered," said ENC Tea Party Director Karen Kozel.
A handful of protesters showed up at the rally saying Obamacare is needed to provide healthcare to more people.
