NEW INFO: Crews Pull Submerged SUV Out of Canal

Beaufort County authorities are investigating the discovery of an SUV in a canal this morning.

It was discovered around 6:30 a.m. on West Road outside of Aurora. Emergency Management Director John Pack says a dive team was called out, but the water was too muddy to determine if anyone was inside. They did find the driver's side window was down on the SUV.

Pack says no one was found inside the vehicle after it was pulled out and lawmen say they're investigating it as a stolen car case.

Pack says they get three to four stolen vehicles that are dumped in this area each year.

I really hope no one was in the vehicle. So sad that people are doing this though.
