Cousins Charged With Assault With Intent To Kill

One man is in the hospital in critical condition after police say he was badly beaten.

Officers responded to 610 Blount Street in Wilson about 3:30 Thursday afternoon to find 29-year-old Steven Pearce unconscious on the sidewalk suffering injuries from a serious assault. He was taken to Wilson Medical Center, then airlifted to Pitt County Memorial where he is in critical condition. A second victim, 23-year-old Thomas Mann was released at the scene with minor injuries.

Police arrested two cousins for the beating. 39-year-old Corey Farmer and 43-year-old Patrick Farmer are charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. Police have not said what the motive was for the assault or if a weapon was used.
