Couple With ENC Ties To Exchange Vows In NYC

A former North Carolina resident and his bride-to-be will be celebrating the New Year by getting married in Times Square in New York City.

The Daily News of Jacksonville reported that Geoffrey Dubie and his fiancee Bethany Phillips won a contest from Get Married Media to pay for their wedding. Readers of the wedding planning magazine and its web site chose the lucky couple out of 1,900 entries.

Company founder Stacie Francombe says Dubie and Phillips were selected because of their love and service to the country.

The two met last January in Iraq, while they both served in the Marine Corps. When their tours were finished, Dubie returned to North Carolina, while Phillips went back to Georgia.

The couple now live in Jacksonville, Fla.

Thank you WITN for posting a tid bit of news that isn't depressing today. Lord, forgive those that choose to complain because they didn't get to see someone's life become as miserable from this article. I pray that this couple is blessed beyond measure. Thank you guys for your service so that we have the opportunity to sit in our seats and complain about this type of news. God Bless!

So? I am sure that the couple is excited and happy about their upcoming vows and the family is too. And there will probably be a report in the Sunday Wedding section of the newspaper; but, surely there are more important things to report on TV news than this.

Is is news? WITN is stooping to a new low by reporting garbage like this. A reputation takes a long time to build and be destroyed very quickly. WITN you are destroying your very own reputation by reporting garbage like this.
