Jacksonville police say they have seized more than a million dollars worth of Spice after an undercover operation.
Police say they learned the now-illegal synthetic marijuana was being sold at The One Stop Shop on Corbin Road. They arrested an employee, Abdullah Saleh and seized almost $100,000 in Spice at the store.
Spice became illegal in North Carolina this summer.
Officers also learned that Spice was also being sold at Discount Tobacco on Western Boulevard. Owner Mohammed Dahmash was arrested and they seized $1,021,830 worth of Spice from Discount Tobacco.
Saleh was charged with selling a synthetic cannabinoid, delivery of a synthetic cannabinoid, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, distribute a synthetic cannabinoid. His bond was set at $33,000.
Damash was charged with trafficking synthetics, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling, selling within a 1000 feet of a daycare, and conspire to traffic in synthetics. His bond was set at $150,000.
