Cops Seize Over $1 Million Worth Of Spice

Jacksonville police say they have seized more than a million dollars worth of Spice after an undercover operation.

Police say they learned the now-illegal synthetic marijuana was being sold at The One Stop Shop on Corbin Road. They arrested an employee, Abdullah Saleh and seized almost $100,000 in Spice at the store.

Spice became illegal in North Carolina this summer.

Officers also learned that Spice was also being sold at Discount Tobacco on Western Boulevard. Owner Mohammed Dahmash was arrested and they seized $1,021,830 worth of Spice from Discount Tobacco.

Saleh was charged with selling a synthetic cannabinoid, delivery of a synthetic cannabinoid, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell, distribute a synthetic cannabinoid. His bond was set at $33,000.

Damash was charged with trafficking synthetics, possession of drug paraphernalia, maintaining a dwelling, selling within a 1000 feet of a daycare, and conspire to traffic in synthetics. His bond was set at $150,000.

Her's an idea for you. You go out "pioneering". Hang out in the woods and sample the natural floral and fauna. Hey I'll be willing to bet that dried Poison ivy crushed and snorted would be a heck of a buzz. GO FORTH BE BOLD! Just when you die, do it in the woods so the buzzards can clean the carnage ok.

synthetic means man made, therefore not made 'by God' or 'in nature'. and spice IS dangerous, its made people really sick. maybe you should read the story, hit up wikipedia once or twice, THEN comment?

Legalize Marijuana and collect taxes on it. If it was not a crime and legal it would help the war on drugs come to an end. Just think instead of paying drug police we could collect taxes on it and use some of the proceeds to help people get off of drugs, WIN WIN situation.

come on david, the word synthetic means the OPPOSITE of natural! by the way, per your defenition, cocaine is a natural substance, guess its harmless. so is ebene, a hallucinogenic, what about those mushrooms...i know people who almost died from those..natural does not mean 'safe' or 'healthy'. if i eat a pound of organic animal fat, it will still go to my arteries. use common sense and maybe do a little research before spouting off.

Really- that stuff is sufficiently dangerous that immediate execution is called for with such quantities. That is enough to cause many many deaths and untold misery.

Could these two possibly be related? Also, I'd thought to see something about the kindergartner that took meth to school for show and tell--anyone else seen that anywhere?

That was in Missouri! Unfortunately, I am from there, but I did see it. Missouri is one of the biggest meth producers. I can't believe the parent didn't see what the kid took.
