Congressman Jones: "Country Extremely Volatile"

Republican Congressman Walter Jones, who has been sounding the alarm over our country's debt for awhile now, says it's time for a wake up call.

Congressman Jones was in Jacksonville Tuesday for a town hall meeting.

Jones spoke at Jacksonville's city hall--saying that for too long there has been a lack of concern about our nation's growing deficit. Jones discussed how the meltdown on Wall Street Monday, coupled with the the lowering of our nation's credit rating, should be the wake up call that our nation's political leaders need. Jones says, "America has awakened to the crisis, Congress has awakened to the crisis and I think you'll see a different September, October, November than I've ever seen in this country because it is just ready to explode."

Jones thinks that scaling back the war in Afghanistan, costing 10-billion dollars a month, could help cut the deficit, on top of bringing home our men and women in uniform.

Jones failed to offer any facts or tangible plans as usual. He used some vague talking points which are mostly metaphorical imagery designed to stroke the egos of the easily manipulated masses. This fellow and his staff are either truly ignorant, or truly evil.

What Did He Say??? WHAT? He said, "America and Congress has awakened to the crisis". What crisis is he referring to??? The credit rating, the economy, unemployment, or Congress realizes they are inept? He then says??? Different from what? Last Sept.Oct.Nov, or last month??? No, different than Congressman Jones has ever seen. What?? Because "IT" is fixing to explode? What is It??? Jobs? the economy?, or The Patience of Americans who are TIRED of EMPTY WORDS, Just like you said today. You spoke in all PRONOUNS!! Mr. Congressman, WHAT DO YOU ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND?? Reading different polls it seems like most people are in favor of making some basic changes in Congress: limited terms, no "special" retirement, make them pay for health insurance (like us common people), they have to pay into social security. The recent crap that happened with the debt ceiling issue was inexcusable.

George Bush should have done this when he gave the tax break to the wealthiest Americans and kept on spending and creating wars like the money was still coming in. There was no deficit when Bill Clinton left office.

Wow! He actually (kinda sorta) took a stand on something (Afghanistan). Didn't really say anything of substance though. He rarely does.
