Cold Slows Holiday Traffic At Some Stores, But Winter Gear Sales Up

Cold weather means fewer shoppers according to some business owners in the east, but some New Bern business owners say they are making up for the loss in foot traffic with selling lots of winter weather gear.

Mary Davidson, owner of The Four C's says she's seen the postive impact of the cold weather - more people buying gloves and mittens. She's not the only store owner to notice this trend. Danny Batten, owner of the Life is Good store says people seem to be buying cold weather wear not only as gifts, but also for themselves.
