Ferry routes on the Pamlico Sound are suspended because of today's coastal storm.
The Swan Quarter to Ocracoke and the Cedar Island to Ocroacoke ferry routes have been cancelled.
The D.O.T. says the storm is bringing heavy rain and wind to the sound, and other ferry routes could be impacted by the storm as well. Wind gusts of 40 to 45 miles per hour are possible, making ferry travel potential unsafe.
