A cold front will pass through eastern North Carolina early Tuesday causing temperatures to fall significantly over the next two days. Overnight lows will dip into the lower to middle 50s then remain in that range through Tuesday afternoon. Winds will shift from the west to north following the front allowing cooler air to filter into the area. Clouds will we stubborn to move out so that will provide an extra chill to the air. Temperatures are likely to drop below freezing both Tuesday night and Wednesday night. Some warming can be expected at the end of the week.
