Showers dotted eastern North Carolina on Tuesday but a fast moving cold front will sweep through the area by Wednesday morning. The cold front will sweep clouds and rain rapidly out to sea by sunrise. Mild weather will continue on Wednesday with highs hitting 70 degrees in most sections. Slightly cooler and drier air will arrive by Wednesday night through the weekend. Highs will reach the lower to middle 60s while overnight lows should dip into the upper 30s. There is little or no chance for rain through the upcoming weekend.
