The mild January will continue across eastern North Carolina this week. A weak cold front will push off the North Carolina coast Tuesday morning followed by clearing skies with warmer highs in the upper 60s. Slightly cooler air will move into the area by Tuesday night but temperatures will stay above normal much of the week. We may see a few light showers overnight but the best threat for significant rainfall will wait until late Thursday or Friday.
