City Council Vote: Greenville's Convention Center Expanding

Greenville's Convention Center will be going through an expansion.

The Greenville City Council voted unanimously to expand the Greenville Convention Center. The plan would increase the space from about 11-thousand square feet, to 52-thousand square feet.

The total cost for the project is 4.1 million dollars, with a groundbreaking expected in May. The projected economic impact to Pitt county of the Convention Center expansion is estimated to increase from $24 million this year, to approximately $34 million by 2020, a net gain of $10 million.
