Nearly three dozen drug suspects are facing charges after what Wayne County lawmen call an "extensive joint undercover investigation" focused on areas that get the most complaints and concerns from citizens.
The Goldsboro/Wayne County Drug Squad and Mount Olive Police Department charged 35 people in the roundup. Of the 35 charged, 20 were arrested. The entire group of suspects faces a total of 116 drugs and weapons charges.
The bonds of the suspects range from $2,000 to $300,000 for charges that range from possession with the intent to sell and deliver to trafficking.
Several agencies worked together on the drug operation, including Fremont Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The Goldsboro Police Department's Selective Enforcement Unit, Housing Authority, Warrant Squad and Patrol Division assisted the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and Mount Olive Police Department.
