Church Gives Away 200 Thanksgiving Feasts

Hundreds of people lined up Tuesday to make sure they have a Thanksgiving meal. Bible Way Church in Williamston had a huge turn out as they gave away all the basic Thanksgiving day necessities.

Many said if it wasn't for the church they wouldn't have a very good thanksgiving dinner. A crowd of people waited outside a small door at Bible Way Church in Williamston in hopes their name and number was called next for the first come, first serve food giveaway.
Each family got a box filled with thanksgiving day goodies.

Beverly Roberson is not a new face to the church. She has been coming for many years because of financial problems.
"I thank god for it I'm glad that he was able to provide it for us," said Roberson.

The church has put on a Thanksgiving food giveaway for 16 years.
Roberson received a box full of goodies for her table this year including chicken, cherry pie, bread, and sausage.

After Tuesday night's giveaway 200 people in the Williamston community now have all the fixings for Thursday's feast.

Each box has$50-$75 worth of food and drinks inside. Bible Way church says that's thanks to donations from numerous sponsors.
The church also holds 2 food pantries a month to help the needy in their area.
