Six Year Old Dies After Being Hit By Vehicle

A six year old Sampson County child who was struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon has died.

Wake Med confirmed the death of Kolin Robins. The child was struck by a vehicle after police say he was playing on the edge of his yard.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. Monday on Park Avenue in Clinton. Police say Robins was playing in the leaves and stepped into the street. The child was struck by a vehicle that was traveling about 20 miles per hour.

This is heartbreaking on both sides, the family who lost their loved one and the driver who has to live with the fact the this has happened. I pray that they both have the strength to deal with this tragedy.

I feel bad for the driver also, who was driving along, having a normal day until someone's unsupervised child ran out in front of them. I hope they are not charged.
