Cherry Point Marines Return From Afghanistan

Some Eastern Carolina Marines fighting the war on terrorism are back home.

Cherry Point Marines from Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 40, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, returned from a seven-month deployment to Afghanistan early Sunday morning.

While deployed, the military says the Marines played a vital role in maintaining the aircraft and ensuring it was mission-ready at a moment's notice.

Thank you for my freedom. It doesn't come free or cheap. The sacrifice from you and your family is very much appreciated. I cry when I see wives and little children waiting for their Daddy. Welcome home.
