Cherry Point Marine Sentenced In 2 Year Old Daughter's Death

A Cherry Point Marine was sentenced to 25 years in the brig Tuesday after his court-martial on charges he killed his 2-year-old child.

An air station spokeswoman says Lance Corporal Preston Walker's daughter died under suspicious circumstances on June 10th. The toddler allegedly fell down the steps in a house on base ten days earlier. Gunnery Sergeant Reina Barnett says there was no formal cause of death.

In addition to the prison sentence, Walker's rank was reduced to private, he was dishonorably discharged and has to forfeit pay and allowances.

Walker earned his rank on May 1, 2010 and worked as a warehouse clerk in MAG14.

Sorry my bad! SORRY! Seen it to many times with other cases which are similar to this one when they have gotten off in two, were lucky he was charged at all! He'll be off in two! Don't have space to hold them! To many kids on base get abused each day and the MP's push it under the rug! Just like they don't have the the correct evidence for the colonel in Jacksonville even though they have videotape! What a joke, what is this world coming! Just being these men and women are serving the country doesn't mean they need to be treated any differently they the average citizen!
