UPDATE: Driver Charged in Crash With Dollar General Store

Greenville police say the driver who ran into a Dollar General Store on Sunday, has been charged with making an unsafe movement.

According to Sgt. Joe Friday with Greenville Police, in the police report stated, 59-year-old Virginia Clements said her foot slipped off the brake in front of the store on Stantonsburg Road around 12:45 Sunday afternoon. Instead, she hit the accelerator and drove into the store.

Clements was taken to Vidant Medical Center with minor injuries, according to Sgt. Friday.

There's no indication on how much damage was caused to the building.

Part of a Dollar General store in Greenville is boarded up after reports say a car came crashing into it.

The wreck happened at the Dollar General at 3100 Stantonsburg Rd., near the Wilco-Hess Station.

A woman accidentally crashed into the store around noon Sunday, according to the Daily Reflector. The paper says her injuries did not appear to be serious, but she was taken to Vidant Medical Center.

Her name is not available at this time.
