Burglary Suspect Arrested

A man wanted since November on burglary and assault charges is now behind bars.

New Bern police say they arrested 40-year-old Shawn Ridley of New Bern on January 31st.

Police say Ridley faces first degree burglary and kidnapping charges for a burglary on Sampson Street in November.

Ridley was taken to the Craven County jail and is being held under a $150,000 secured bond.

    Does anyone else feel that by age 40, if you're still committing crimes, you're not gonna stop committing crimes, ever? I think we should ship guys like this off to penile colonies. He's been committing crimes since he was 18. Isn't it time? 3 strikes?
