Bridge Closed Again

Some drivers will find themselves taking a familiar detour to start off the week. Stokestown-St. Johns Rd. in Pitt County is closed through Tuesday afternoon. The bridge there was replaced last year in a construction project that took several months.

The DOT says the problem is on the road, not on the new bridge.

The detour routes drivers around the road closure using NC 102 and NC 43.

The closure is to make emergency repairs, according to the NC DOT website.

Why in the world would DOT except this type of sorry work in the first place? Just another example of DOT sitting in trucks and passsing the buck and taxpayers footing the bill for sorry work. The bridge is better and road was a total waste of money(hole, and uneven). What can you expect with DOT leaders in Pitt county. When you get time start at 102-17 intersection and ride west on 102 to 903 when its raining and tell me this road is safe wet or dry.

That bridge being out last year probably saved a lot of deer hounds.
