Bike Rally Expected To Draw Thousands

Thousands of bikes are gassed up and ready to hit the road for the Harley Davidson rally in New Bern.

Harley Davidson is hosting its annual spring rally Friday and Saturday. The location has changed this year. Bikers will convene at the New Bern River Front Convention Center. In years past, the event took place at the Craven County Fairgrounds.

Organizers expect over 5,000 people to be in attendance.

Heading to myrtle. I Wont spend any money in the city limits but north and south are fair game. As for NB,not really interested in spending more money with the HD Stores. Just because HD has pulled out of myrtle dosent mean the rally is over. quit trying to compete with myrtle and see how many attendies will show up then.

Great for the economy of New Bern . Like to see it get even bigger. The average biker will spend 700 bucks in this town. I say bring it on. Its good for business and puts us on the map. Most of the negatives people post are what holds our town back. People who are from here leave because of no jobs and the only thing we get are yankees.Thank God they cant sell their houses up North. The rules they are making here are just terrible. These are the ones we need to get out of town.

I have to agree with that. Start with the mayor.

Hope the bikers enjoy all the high and mighty snobs in downtown New Bern. YUCK ! Such arrogant people, mainly talking about the business owners and such.

A friend of mine is crippled because a lady pulled out in front of him. He had to lay the bike down and busted up his leg...the lady (53) stopped and her insurance paid for the medical/repair bills. (he was very lucky!) Motorcycles are fun! (yeah, right)

I had three friends in a classic Camaro SS who ran off the road and flipped. One broke his spine, the other two died. Cars are fun, too (yeah, right).

Lay it down... maybe you shouldn't ride a bike since you are obviously afraid of them. And dont read the news either. You may see a story about someone who got robbed at a grocery store and then you will have to quit shopping. Or maybe someone fell down and broke their leg while walking outside. You'll have to stay in your house then because outside will be dangerous!

First i don't have anything against people have a bike. But I always though it was funny wind a driver would put ear plugs in. But don't care about any one else that has to hear at.

I ride and I use ear plugs. Not because of the sound but because of the wind in my ears giving me a headache.

Same here. I have factory pipes and the wind is deafening compared to them

Hope it will be as much fun as last year. Watch out though, look what happen to Myrtle Beach when other biker groups tried to emulate you and made it bad for all.
