Did the ryder have a light, high viz vest??? prob. not. I have seen them dart from one side of th road to the other to offset the ttaffic. They don't have any business on that stretch of road anyhow.

I can't believe anyone rides a bike around here. There are too many transplants and people that do not pay attention to what they are doing. Even if you were to ride a bike around, why in the world would you do it on a major highway. This guy must have trusted other people's driving a whole lot more than myself.

I save a ton of funds on not having to buy gas for my bike but I wish the roads around here were better and gave enough room and lighting for everyone to share the road. I hope this biker is fine.

Maybe all the taxes that are collected when you pump gas into your bike will pay for a new "bike lane".

I only know one man that would do this.. Pray that it is not him. Hope the driver is not charged in this accident. It is really not very smart to ride a bike on a highway at night.

If the cyclist was obeying traffic laws and had lighting on his bike I hope the driver is charged. If you give drivers a free pass to hit cyclists who obey the law then it only discourages more people from cycling. And that's just what we need, more obesity and more gas guzzling cars.

I agree. But if he is like the ones I see everyday, on the wrong side of the road, no lights, dark clothes, etc, The driver should not be charged. I have respect for those that cycle responsibly. But not those that cycle stupidly.

I'd never ride a bike at night in that area. (on the highway) Traffic is very fast (60-70) and after you pass the car lots, it's very dark.
