The Highway Patrol says a woman was driving south on Asbury Church Road just after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday in Beaufort County when a child on a bike tried tried to cross the road and came into the drivers lane. They say that the bicyclist hit the front left side of her vehicle. An investigator says the child was taken to the hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries. The child's age and name were not released, but troopers say the child was under the age of 16. They say the investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
