Bertie County Relief Fund Established

A disaster relief fund has been set up for tornado victims in Bertie County.

Twelve people died in the tornadoes that struck in the Colerain and Askewville areas, while dozens of homes were destroyed or heavily damaged.

Those wanting to donate can visit the county manager's office on Dundee Street in Windsor, the town of Colerain office on Winton Street in Colerain or by mailing donations to the Bertie County Tornado Relief Fund, P.O. Box 530, Windsor, NC 27983. Checks should be made out to "Bertie County Tornado Relief Fund."

The county says 100% of the donations will go to the victims of the tornadoes in Bertie County.
