Belle Of Washington To Return In May

As summer approaches, owners of a dinner cruise boat hope to have their vessel fixed after an explosion on board earlier this year.

The Belle of Washington was docked in the Washington harbor for the off-season when a compartment on the boat's hull exploded. It twisted the beams holding up the deck, blew out a window, shattered a glass door, and tore through wood paneling.

An assistant for the boat's manager says the repair is taking longer than expected, but it should return around April 16. To be safe, they've canceled all their April reservations and will start the season May 7th.

We had a marvelous time on the Belle in 2010. Twice we cruised down the Pamlico, and both times the food was good, crew efficient and entertaining, and atmosphere fun-filled. We had a D.J. on the one cruise, with shag and line dancing. It was so much fun to be with neighbors and friends.

I can not wait until you are up and running. My friends surprised me with a birthday dinner trip and we had a BLAST. The crew was very engaging and the food was quite good. Looking forward to many more summer time trips with you! Good Luck!

She is a beautiful vessel, and I am looking forward to seeing her underway on our beautiful river.
