A school bus driver from the east made the top ten in the state's annual school bus rodeo in Raleigh.
Jimmy Ward, the winner of this year's Beaufort County School bus rodeo rounded out the top ten.
The competition included a written exam as well as a demanding obstacle course drivers had to properly maneuver from behind the wheel.
Ward secured his spot in the state event by placing during the district rodeo on May 4 in Nashville.
Ward has served Beaufort County Schools as a bus driver for 13 years and is also a custodian at Washington High School.
