A man will spend the next ten years in federal prison after admitting he robbed a federal credit union more than two years ago.
Douglas Whitfield was sentenced last week in U.S. District Court for his role in the Freedom Federal Credit Union robbery in Rocky Mount that happened in April 2009.
The 42-year-old Whitfield will also have to serve three years of supervised probation. He and two others pleaded guilty to the robbery back in March.
