There's another expansion for one of Craven County's largest employers.
BSH Home Appliances says it will add another 100 jobs to its New Bern appliance factory. That announcement was made this afternoon by Governor Beverly Perdue.
BSH began making dishwashers at its New Bern facility in 1997 and the plant has gone through several expansions. The company is adding a new dishwasher line at the facility which will add the new jobs over a four years.
Perdue says with an estimated 80% of BSH employees living in Craven County, it will provide a tremendous economic boost for Craven and surrounding counties.
Today's announcement follows the recent opening of a new customer service call center at the New Bern location. Once fully staffed, the call center will employ 30 factory-trained representatives that will assist customers throughout North America.
