UPDATE: Two Charged In Shooting At Greenville Apartment Complex

Two suspects are now under arrest for what police described as a "gunman wildly firing" at an apartment complex last month.

Greenville police charged 17-year-old Travis Roberson and 20-year-old Devante McLawhorn with the August 13 shootings on Brookwood Drive in Greenville.

Police say three people were shot in the River Bluff subdivision that night, including 29-year-old Kaiwanna Langley, who was shot trying to drive away. A 15 year old was shot in the leg, and someone inside their apartment was hit.

McLawhorn is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, and his bond is set at $350,000. Roberson is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, and his bond is set at $50,000.

Greenville police say at least three people were shot after a gunman wildly started firing outside an apartment complex late Monday night.

It happened just before midnight at 100 Brookwood Drive.

Police arrived and found 29-year-old Kaiwanna Langley shot in the buttocks and torso. She was taken to Vidant Medical Center.

Tyshevia Barksdale told officers that an intoxicated man got into an argument with someone, left and then came back with a shotgun and started shooting.

Barksdale says the man shot at her car as she and Langley were leaving and Langley was hit.

A person lying on her couch inside her apartment was struck in the foot by a flying bullet and a 15-year-old was hit in the leg.

Another resident reported his big screen TV was hit by a bullet as well.

Police say the shooter left the area and now police are searching for him.

Detectives say they have several leads in the case and the GPD Gang Unit is assisting in interviews.

Officers described the gunman as a black male with a medium complexion. He is about 5’8” tall and has dreadlocks.

The scene is now clear at the location of a shooting, Pitt County dispatchers say occurred overnight Monday.

Pitt County Dispatchers say it happened just before midnight in the River Bluff Subdivision near Brookwood Drive in Greenville.
