Arrests Follow Fights In New Bern

Three people have been charged following several fights where a crowd of 150 to 200 people were gathered in New Bern.

It happened Thursday night around 9:00 p.m. on Fleet Street between Pollock and Walt Bellamy Street.

Police say when they arrived they found 24-year-old Terrell Askew of Wilmington unconscious. Police say when he regained consciousness he incited others to fight and was arrested.

Askew's brother, 28-year-old Delvin, was also arrested when police say he tried to interfere with the arrest of his brother.

Police say one other person, 20-year-old Tevin Taylor of New Bern was also arrested after being asked to leave but refused.
