Animals Seized After Dead Horses, Poor Conditions Discovered

Four animals were seized in Wilson County after deputies got complaints about terrible conditions at the property.

WITN obtained home video which shows the property where Wilson
County Animal Enforcement took two horses, a donkey, and a goat. They also found several dead horses and other animals without food or water. They say the home owner on Webb Lake Road, Jonathan Whitley, is facing charges, pending their investigation. Local animal rescue groups say it's too little too late.

911 history reports show 8 calls had been made since January reporting the alleged abuse there. Each time, deputies responded but nothing was done until this week after pictures were sent to the sheriff.

the horses were NOT in horrible shape. Veteranarian Karen Bullock examined these animals and they are in great shape. The animals died naturally...how can you tell from a picture that they died horrific deaths??

If the homeowner is such a good person, how did those animals get into the horrific shape shown by the pictures and video on the Wilson County Humane Society website?? There may have been tresspassing to get the information...but YEAH to the person who did. Actions needed to be taken! Those were horrific deaths, the owner should never be allowed to own another animal and should be in JAIL.

This whole story is a lie- the humane society tresspassed, the horses had water and food on the rear of the propery-(which was miraculously not seen until day after), and were fat as butterballs, the halter was not grown into the horses face... the old horse died from natural causes, not starved as implied.. and the animals have not been taken before. The vet declared them in very good shape. a lot of accustaions are getting strewn about. I have proof...All this is is humane society people TRESSPASSING to start something.

What is REALLY sad is that today is Saturday, this happened Tuesday, and zero charges has been filed. Proof that Wilson County Animal Control does not have animal welfare at heart.

Now this is terrible! Animals and children only have us to look to for care. This person should be charged and severely fined. You can at least turn the animals over or make sure they have water. The local humane society would have given food I'm sure. What's more wrong is reports were made and nothing done. Another example of call us when someone actually kills you theology.

The owner of this property had had animals impounded before. It is a shame that Animal Control did nothing after repeaded 911 calls and allowed this to continue! Something needs to be done to get them to do the job the taxpayers pay them to do! Call your County Commissioners if you live in Wilson County!

PLEASE call 911 and REPORT any and all instances where you suspect abuse or neglect. DOCUMENT your calls, take photos and videos! Let's FORCE Animal Control to do their jobs correctly! The same Deputy responded to 3 of these calls and did absolutely NOTHING! if you look at Wilson County Humane Society's facebook page, they have the graphic videos posted! Please ACT and keep this from happening to any other animals in Wilson County!!

The Sheriff should be removed from office for failure to do his job! 8 calls and nothing! Is that how they handle all 911wood calls? Someone needs to take legal action against the County and Sheriff.
