Alex White Gets Extended Stay In The Major Leagues

Greenville's Alex White was scheduled to get two starts in the major leagues with the Cleveland Indians but after two very good starts and one win the Indians are keeping White on the rosters... For now.

The Indians have optioned Jeanmar Gomez to Class AAA Columbus in anticipation of taking Carlos Carrasco off the disabled list.

It's unclear how long White will stay with the big Tribe. It depends on how long it takes Mitch Talbot to recover from a strained right elbow.

White won his first major league game on Saturday in a 4-3 victory over the Angels. He went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. White struck out six and walked two.

He's struck out a total of ten major league batters in two starts.

Wow a Super Bowl ring. There are many people from many towns and cities with one of them. The only difference is that people in Eastern North Carolina like to pound their chests about it.

Let's see, we already have one Eastern Carolinian with a Super Bowl ring, now we have another playing for the best team in basball (currently). Big things come to those who work for them!
