The Albert J. Ellis Airport in Jacksonville is slated to get a nearly $23 million make over.
A new terminal building will be constructed at the airport.
An FAA grant is helping with $17 million and Onlsow County borrowed $4.4 million which will be paid back through user fees and airport revenue.
The total project will cost $22.9 million.
The airport employs 340 people--this new project will put local construction crews to work, and will add several more jobs once it is completed.
The new terminal should open early 2015.
