Ahoskie Man Going To Prison For Drugs

An Ahoskie man that undercover agents bought cocaine from three times in one week in 2009 is now headed to prison. The US District Attorney's Office says Wayne Simmons has been sentenced to 17 years in prison.

Simmons pleaded guilty last year to distributing cocaine. He was deemed a career offender, and thus received an enhanced sentencing.

The arrest of Simmons was part of Operation "Wildfire," a crackdown on drugs and organized crime run by the Hertford County Sheriff's Office and the FBI. Prosecutors say Simmons and his associates have been "significant distributors of cocaine" in the
Hertford County area for many years.

Sure , lets just kill everyone that breaks unjust laws.17 years @ 47,000$ a year=799,000 US dollars. And people wonder why this country is broke.I do not use cocaine but respect the right of another to do as they choose with their life.It is rediculous to incarcerate people for drug offenses.Due to prison overcrowding(bc they are FULL of drug off.)murderers and rapists are released early constantly. The only crime this fellow commited was not giving uncle sam his cut.Sickening that you hold life with such little value.OOHHHH yeah, marine mom should have tipped me off as to your mental state.

I'm glad anytime I hear that a coke dealer is put away. It's bad stuff and needs to be disposed of. I've done it before, I know what it does. It can hook you harder than you can handle. It ruins lives and turns good people into criminals. To deal it means you have no heart. (or soul)
