Update: Accident With Injury Near School

Highway Patrol Troopers released the name of the person involved in an early morning accident that sent one man to the hospital.

Troopers say 20-year-old Brandon Causey ran off the right side of Sand Ridge Road and struck a tree before the car rested in a ditch.

Causey was taken to New Hanover Medical Center and treated and released.

Troopers say they're still investigating, but say preliminary evidence shows operator error could be the cause of the crash.

Troopers say road conditions do not appear to be a factor in the accident.

WITN: Great way to build a headline and gravy the lead in. The whole area has been concerned about road related incidents with bad weather. You built it up as if it might have been a high schooler or such. I concur with BrainOn

What does this have to do with Sand Ridge Elementary? The accident was at 2:45 AM - the "drunks are driving home" hour. Did it involve the school or school-aged children? Wouldn't the address have sufficed?
