Hyde County fire officials said while the club has been abandoned and vacant for some time, fire crews and forestry officials were working to douse flames at the building overnight.
Around 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, fire crews in Hyde County were called to the old Millennium Club north of Engelhard, off Highway 264.
Crews said while there are no other building nearby, there was a concern the flames could spread into nearby woods.
Crews contained the fire without any reports of injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
