A cold and dry weather pattern will be replaced with warmer and wetter conditions for the weekend. The first batch of moisture will move northward along the coast late Friday night into Saturday. The area of moisture will move to our northeast Saturday night and we may see a lull in activity. A cold front will approach eastern North Carolina Sunday afternoon bringing another round of showers and gusty winds. Temperatures will be near 50 degrees Saturday then warm into the upper 50s to lower 60s Sunday ahead of the front. Rain will move out of the area Sunday night as colder and drier air arrives. Much colder conditions will be in place early next week.
