Cool and damp weather conditions can be expected across eastern North Carolina through Saturday night. Warm and moist air continues to overrun a stationary frontal system just to our south. Spotty light this morning will give way to heavier showers this afternoon. Most locations will see a quarter to half-inch, with locally heavier amounts. The rain should taper off Saturday night with only a slight risk of an isolated shower on Sunday. We may see a few rays of sunshine Sunday afternoon but most of the weekend will be cloudy and damp. Dry and warm weather will return early next week.
