An area of low pressure that brought unsettled weather to our area is now moving away to the northeast. It will be replaced with drier and warmer air as we head into the weekend. Highs will hit the middle 80s Saturday and upper 80s by Sunday afternoon. The heat will continue to build into early next weekend with highs near 90° or lower 90s. Showers will be hard to find through the middle of next week.
The beaches have highs in the upper 70s to lower 80s over the weekend. Light north winds on Saturday will become southerly on Sunday. Wave heights will be 2 to 3 feet near the beaches and around 1 foot in the Albemarle and Pamlico sounds.
