A strong cold front pushed off the North Carolina coast early Thursday ushering in drier and much colder air. The rain moved off the coast by early afternoon after rainfall amounts between a quarter inch and half-inch inland and one inch or higher along the coast. Temperatures will dip into the lower 30s overnight before rebounding into the upper 40s to lower 50s Friday afternoon. We'll see plenty of sunshine the next few days. Warmer air will gradually move into the area over the weekend with highs near 60° Saturday and 70° Sunday.
