High pressure just off the East Coast will give eastern North Carolina lots of sunshine and warming temperatures on Thursday. Southwesterly winds will pump warmer air into the area during the day. We should see highs in the the middle 70s inland and upper 60s to lower 70s along the beaches. A weak cold front that will slide south into the area Friday afternoon and that could produce a few showers or thunderstorms. Temperatures will cool slightly Friday night and Saturday before the front pushes north and allows warmer air to return for Sunday and Monday.
