A Gradual Cooling Trend For Friday And The Weekend

A strong cold front swept off the North Carolina coast early Friday causing gusty winds to develop across the region. Cooler air also filtered into the area with brisk northwesterly winds. The winds will diminish overnight but temperatures will drop into the upper 30s inland and lower 40s on the coast. A mixture of clouds and sun can be expected Friday with highs in the upper 50s. Clouds will increase Friday night ahead of a developing area of low pressure to our west. The storm will spread rain across eastern North Carolina Saturday into early Sunday. Temperatures over the weekend will top out in the middle to upper 50s.
