A Fire Weather Watch Issued For Eastern North Carolina

The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for much of eastern North Carolina for Wednesday. The most critical time will be between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Wednesday as temperatures become quite warm. Southwest winds of 15 to 20 mph are expected, with occasional gusts to 30 mph. Relative humidity levels will range from near 30% inland and 35% near the coast. The combination of strong southwesterly winds, low relative humidity values and warm temperatures will make any fire that starts get out of control.
