A Few Severe Storms Possible On Wednesday Across Eastern North Carolina

Warm air will move into our area overnight into Wednesday. Temperatures by Wednesday afternoon are likely to reach the lower 80s ahead of a strong cold front. The front will spawn some scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening. Some of the storms could contain strong winds and some hail. At this point there seems to be only a slight risk of an isolated tornado. Conditions could change so stay tuned to WITN and WITN.com for updates throughout Wednesday. The most likely time for severe weather will be between 2:00 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday afternoon and evening. Much cooler air will follow the front on Thursday and Friday.
