Soon you may be getting some relief at the pump. That's because AAA expects prices to go down. Still many people we spoke to in the east say the price of regular unleaded right now is too high
According to AAA, the average price of regular unleaded in North Carolina is$ 3.10. A month ago it was $3.04. AAA officials say what drove the cost at the pump to increase last week was the unrest in the middle east, but officials are expecting the price to start going down since the supply is high and the demand is low. Samuel Cheatham drives a lot delivering food to the needy in Onslow County and says he feels the pinch.
"I look at my gas tank and then I look at the money in my pocket and say what should I do? Should I save this or do this or put gas to serve others so it always wins out the volunteer part," said Cheatham
Some areas in North Carolina are already starting to see the price go down. In Wilmington it went down 1 cent a gallon Tuesday. The national average is $3.12.
